Birthday Boy

Yesterday was Bebo's birthday, and even though we won't be celebrating until next weekend, I felt a keen obligation to take pictures of him - especially since he was in a somewhat cooperative mood. :)

P.S. About that shirt - it was a present from his great-grandmother. Don't be hatin' on me because it's not Vols orange, okay?

Spring Is Here!

Yay! I'm so excited to finally see flowers again!

I know I posted Bradford Pears last year, but they are the first plants to really get going here, so you're getting at least one more picture of them.

*sigh* It makes me happy. :)

Carousel at Coolidge Park

I love the carousel at Coolidge Park! I got to snap some pics today near sunset, when the light coming in the windows was at its warmest. These are some of my favorites. You can read more about the carousel here.

More of the kids.

Hope you're not getting tired of seeing the same kids here all the time. I really need more models! Here's Bebo after he crashed and burned (twice) on the staircase in the basement:

A sweet one of Katie I took on the porch. (I'm playing around with blending modes to get different effects with my B&W photos.)

Here's Gabe actually cooperating for a picture. And no, that's not ketchup on his bottom lip. He has actually chewed on it until it's just that chapped.

And finally, a hysterical pic of Katie, who also felt like cooperating for the camera. Did they have fevers?

Christmas at Mom's

More of the kids at Christmas. Obviously, Katie wasn't into cooperating that day. I am not crazy about the one of Braeden - it's really difficult to get the color right in Mom's basement, and I wound up doing some funky effects to get it looking a little better than the original. More to come...

Are you ready?

I'm going to hit you with a long string of Christmas pics. I took nearly 700 shots in the last two weeks. :)

This is my newest nephew, Jonathan. Ain't he cute?

Round One

I couldn't resist posting a couple from the morning's festivities. Keep in mind that my living room is the world's worst place to take a picture, so these aren't going to win any awards. I do like them, especially the one of Braeden ripping the paper from his very first model train set. To me, it just packs all the emotion of the morning into one picture.

Christmas Bows

I was so proud of these that I had to post them asap. If you're feeling Martha Stewart-y, here are the directions: Jo's Blog, Just scroll down a bit - and thank her for the lovely idea!

Please forgive the wonky color on the pics. My camera can't figure out how to handle these compact flourescent bulbs.

Christmas Parade

South Pittsburg's football team - #1 in the state! Go Pirates!

An American icon - only smaller and on wheels!

I love that the fire departments around here keep these wonderful classic fire trucks!

I really got a kick out of Bebo staring at the huge trucks.

My personal favorite part of the parade is the Shriners in their silly little vehicles.

And before the parade . . . this is the death look I got from Braeden for taking his picture when he didn't want me to!
